Ngulia Safari lodge

Ngulia Safari lodge is situated spectacularly on the edge of Ndawe Escarpment, offering a vast panorama of Tsavo West's sweeping plains. Ngulia is an ideal base from which to explore Tsavo West where all of the Big Five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino - can be found here.

A spectacular backdrop to the abundant wildlife is the snow covered dome of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak on the entire African continent. When in the heat of the day the animals disappear, guests can swim in the lodge's pool or take a drive to the oasis of Mzima Springs. At Ngulia Safari Lodge, a special viewing facility allows the observer to view hippo wallowing with surprising grace from below the water line.

Accommodation in Ngulia Safari Lodge, Tsavo West

Ngulia Safari Lodge has fifty two rooms, all with a bath and shower and a balcony facing the vast wilderness; a swimming pool, a strategically located restaurant, two bars and a viewing bay for the wildlife; it is built in a more lush sector of Tsavo to blend with the natural surrounding flora. The lodge is renown as a haven for bird lovers who come every year between October and December to watch migrating birds escaping the harsh winter conditions of the northern hemisphere.

Facilities and Activities at the Ngulia Safari Lodge

  • Ngulia Safari Lodge has a swimming pool that guests can swim in the hot days
  • Game drives to Mzima Springs where an underwater observatory facility allows the observer to view hippo wallowing with surprising grace from below the water line.
  • After the dark, Ngulia safari Lodge's waterloo is floodlit allowing guests to see the nocturnal animals coming in from the bush to quench their thirst including the illusive leopard - while staying here you are almost guaranteed to see the leopard - making Ngulia Safari Lodge synonymous with leopard viewing.
